When the Gold Ranger's zord, Pyramidas, entered the Earth's atmosphere it caused an interference with the power chamber's computer system.  Billy pin-pointed the frequency causing the interference and discovered that the energy signatures of Pyramidas and the Sub Zeo Crystals were an exact match, Pyramidas and the Zeo powers used the same power source. The rangers were very exited about the news of a sixth Zeo Ranger, The Gold Ranger soon appeared helping the rangers in battle but always retreating after the fight had been won. When the Zeo ranger asked him who he was he told them if they knew who he was he would loose his  powers.  Alien bounty hunters arrived on Earth to destroy the Gold Ranger powers.  Pyramidas was shown being chased by the bounty hunters space ship and when they began to fire the Gold Rangers massive zord, Pyramidas, was shot down.  It crashed landed on Aquitar, home of the Alien Rangers. Cestro the Blue Alien Ranger rescued him and took him to the Aquitian Chamber, an Alien Ranger version of the power chamber. The Gold Ranger told them that he needed Zordons help so the Alien Ranger contacted Zordon and teleported the Gold ranger  back to Earth.  When the Gold Ranger arrived in the power chamber he split into three different versions of himself  Trey of Wisdom, Trey of Heart, and Trey of Courage, who  appeared to be the leader of the three. Trey of Courage explained that they were Triforians, a race of trifold beings, each with three distinct personalities, normally joined as one; he said they were a race of great peacekeepers who often traveled to other planets when there was a need to do away with evil and that his latest battle with the alien bounty hunter had splintered his unity being, and until he was one, he was unable to utilize the Gold Ranger powers and that they must find a worthy beneficiary, or the powers would be lost forever. The Gold Ranger powers were contained within the Golden Power Staff so the Treys officially presented the Golden Power Staff and Gold Ranger powers to Billy.  After asking him if he was ready, they held up the staff near him and announced, "Gift of power, take flight!" then told Billy that the Golden Power Staff  was now his. As Billy's hand approached the Golden Power Staff it glowed gold and lit up the Power Chamber with flashes of light; when he held onto the staff gold energy started to flow from the head of the staff into his hand but then returned to the head of the staff.  When the Rangers returned, Billy, told them that the power of the Gold Ranger couldn't be infused into him; he explained that when the Command Center had blown up, he'd absorbed an extremely high dosage of "negative proton molecules" which resisted the Golden power like two magnets. so to energize the Golden Power Staff and buy the teens more time to find a new Gold Ranger, the staff was in a bed of glowing red crystals. Some time later Tommy was shown to be leading another teen wearing a trench coat, shades, and a bandanna through the desert outside the power chamber. Tommy and the other teen ere attacked by cogs but the two teens managed to fight them off unmorphed. Once in the Power Chamber, the other teen removed the trench coat and glasses revealing himself to be Jason Scott the former Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. The Treys gave Jason the Golden Power Staff, allowing him to tap the power drawn from all three of Trey 's essences as the Gold Ranger. And in apreciation for the Rangers help Trey gave them a gift: the Super Zeo Zords which could combine to form the Super Zeo Megazord.  Feeling that he had left the Gold Ranger at a disadvantage until Pyramidas was returned, Trey of Wisdom had sent Warrior Wheel, the power of which perfectly complemented the strength of the Super Zeozords.  Transmitting from Triforia, Trey of Wisdom told Jason that the time had come for him to pilot the Zord of the Gold Ranger, Pyramidas; the Zord entered the Earth 's atmosphere after traveling through its warp tunnel. Pyramidas could combine with the Super Zeo Zords to form the Zeo Ultrazord. Jason's Return as Gold Ranger however didn't last long because Jason's  human body Rejected the alien powers. So once Trey had recovered he came back and took his Gold Ranger Powers and went back to his home planet.  Years later when Astronema organized Dark Specter's forces in taking over the universe, Gold Ranger struggled against Rita and Zedd 's forces on a planet in the Vica Galaxy.  Gold Ranger's voice wasn't heard clearly, so his identity at this point was uncertain.  Hours later, as Ecliptor 's hologram in the sky explained that Dark Specter had been destroyed and Astronema was now their supreme ruler, the villains had Gold Ranger restrained. The next Earth morning, the energy wave from Zordon's destruction turned all of the monsters into piles of sand, leaving Rita and Zedd in human forms, and the couple danced away happily, to Gold Ranger's confusion. That was last time the Gold Ranger was ever seen.
