When Tommy Oliver first came to Angel Grove the evil Rita Repulsa noticed his martial arts talent and fighting skills and decided he would be perfect to become the evil Green Ranger. So Rita captured Tommy and placed him under a spell turning him evil. She then gave him the 6th power coin and the Dragon Dagger, which he uses to call upon the mighty Dragonzord and control it during a battle. The Dragon Dagger can also shoot beams of green energy. Tommy almost succeeded in destroying the rangers but after several battles Jason Broke the spell that was on Tommy. Once restored to his normal state Tommy Joined the team as the 6th Ranger. This infuriated Rita so she devised a plan to steal Tommy's Green Ranger Powers, she used magic wax to create the Green Candle which as it burns steals the Green Ranger's powers. The Green Ranger is taken to the dark dimension where he is given an ultimatum, serve Rita or loose his powers. Jason comes to Tommy's rescue but the candle burns out as dose Tommy's Green Ranger Power. Rita hatches a plot to kidnap the Rangers' parents with her terrible Drammole monster. They distract the Power Rangers so that the Drammole monster can hypnotize their parents and kidnap them. So Alpha and Zordon duplicate the Green Power Coin so Tommy can once again morph into the Green Ranger and save the day. Lord Zedd soon returns to accomplish what Rita couldn't, destroy the Power Rangers. Soon afterwards Tommy has a dream in which he gets a mysterious message from himself and very bad news about his powers. Meanwhile, Zedd sets a plan into motion to destroy Green Ranger for good. After several attempts, Zedd succeeds and Tommy looses his Green Ranger powers for good
